Welcome to the City of Newcastle waterpolo site. The club is now entering into a new phase in the clubs history. The club was formed in 1980 as 'The City of Newcastle Water Polo Club'. The club competed in the Northumberland & Durham League, progressing to the Northern League and finally joined the National League in 1995. Newcastle won the third division in 1999 and their highest finish was seventh in the second division. Since then the club has played in the second, third and fourth divisions where it currently resides. In the summer of 2010 Newcastle became Team Northumbria and changed it's training venue to Sport Central to take full advantage of the new 25mm variable depth pool and the great support available from Northumbria University.
Head coach Paul Renforth and Richard MacAlister still continue to play for the club alongside Carl Watson who is another long-term member.
This season Paul is being assisted in coaching duties by one of the most experienced and successful players in the country, Neil Bowers.
The new trainning times are Monday 19.00/21.00 & Thursday 20.00/22.00 at Sport Central
